High honor for Prof. Dr. Helmut Krcmar: The Delegate Officer of the President of the Technical University of Munich (TUM) for the Overall development of the TUM Campus Heilbronn received an honorary doctorate from the University of St. Gallen (HSG). At this year's “Dies academicus” of the HSG, Krcmar received the title of Honorary Doctor of Economics (Dr. oec. h.c.) and may now call himself “Univ. Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c.”.

The HSG certificate states: “The University of St.Gallen thus acknowledges his outstanding achievements in the field of information systems both as a scientist and as an active bridge-builder between the international scientific communities”. The laudatory speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. Reinhard Jung, Dean of the School of Management at the HSG:

Krcmar is a leading researcher in the fields of digital transformation, information and knowledge management and platform-based ecosystems. In 2019, “WirtschaftsWoche” ranked him as the number one business administration professor with the most research in the German-speaking world. He has been closely associated with the HSG for many years, both in research and continuing education.

The award of an Honorary Doctorate by the Senate of the University of St. Gallen underscores Prof. Dr. Krcmar's outstanding contributions to information systems.
