The TUM School of Management has been involved in a wide range of cross-disciplinary research projects since its founding in 2002. Its research focuses on foreseeable trends and pragmatic answers that help innovate-based firms grow and serve society as a whole.

The Technical University of Munich's three previous departments of mathematics, informatics, and electrical and computer engineering combined in October 2022, to establish the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology (CIT). Through this action, the specialized research and teaching abilities of these three fields are brought under one roof.
