Her team gratefully appreciates this. Therefore, she received last week the Supervisory Award in Heilbronn from the TUM School of Computation, Information and Technology with more than 150 professors, and just a few days later she received the Supervisory Award of the TUM with a colloquium of more than 600 professors at the TUM Award Dinner in Munich. It was an eventful week, and she looks back on it with joy and pride: “It's great that my commitment is recognized by my doctoral students and also made transparent on a TUM level. A good team atmosphere is particularly important to me for being successful in research and teaching,” says the information scientist. A culturally and gender-diverse team is one key to success.
What makes the awards special is that the professor was nominated by her protégés. There are many reasons for this: she takes a lot of time to be a good advisor to her scientific team and cultivates a structured feedback culture with regular meetings and opportunities for reflection. For Luise Pufahl, this is a matter of course: “I offer my doctoral students many opportunities for further development, be it through on-the-job and off-the-job training or by promoting international contacts with renowned researchers, companies and institutions.”
However, this is no reason for the professor to rest on her laurels: “For me, these awards are an endorsement of my work. I will continue to do my utmost to support my team in asking the right questions, setting the course for their personal and professional future, and creating the conditions for cutting-edge research at the TUM Campus Heilbronn.”
We warmly congratulate Luise Pufahl and will continue to follow her on this path!
