TUM Remains the Top University in the EU

  • News

The Technical University of Munich (TUM) ranks 25th in the latest edition of the “QS World University Rankings.” This once again places it at the top in the European Union.

For the second consecutive year, TUM has been ranked among the top 25 universities in the world in the “QS World University Rankings.” Previously, it had climbed nearly 40 spots over the course of ten years. This marks the twelfth time it has been ranked number one in Germany.

The ranking is considered one of the most important international comparisons of universities. The British higher education service provider QS Quacquarelli Symonds conducts surveys among academics and businesses to assess the quality of universities. It also determines how often research papers are cited, the faculty-to-student ratio, and the success of graduates.

The proportion of international students and staff, international research collaborations, and sustainability factors are also taken into account. With over 80 percent international students, an excellent faculty-to-student ratio, and close partnerships with renowned universities of excellence, TUM Heilbronn Campus also contributes to this outstanding ranking.

The globally recognized “THE World University Rankings” by Times Higher Education also ranks TUM as the best university in the European Union (27th place).
